Phillips Hop Drop liqueur adds more hops to your beer

If you like your beer hoppy, check out this new product from the folks behind Victoria's Phillips Brewing Co. The company's distillery--Phillips Fermentorium Distilling Company--makes a liquor from hops that you can add to another beer.

Or, you can just enjoy it on its own over ice.

Hop Drop Elixir was originally introduced as an add-on to the 13th Anniversary Ale but was released as a standalone product last November. At 29 percent alcohol by volume, it's sold in small bottles of either 50 mL or 200 mL. (At the brewery, it sells for $4.99 and $13.99 respectively; look for it at priviate liquor stores in Vancouver.)

I tasted Hop Drop at last Saturday's B.C. Distilled event in Vancouver. Made with B.C. honey, it's an interesting sip and definitely hoppy; give it a try.

Phillips Fermentorium also makes tonics and a STUMP Coastal Forest Gin.
