If your idea of a good breakfast goes beyond North American standards like eggs Benedict, check out Maurya Indian Cuisine (1643 West Broadway).

The restaurant recently launched an Indian breakfast menu that includes favourites such as aloo poori (potato-and-pea curry with puffy fried bread), akuri (scrambled eggs with onion, tomato, peas, and coriander), and paneer palak paratha (cheese-and-spinach-stuffed whole-wheat flatbread).

Breakfast is available Monday to Friday from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m., and most dishes cost a reasonable $7.95 each. Three types of lassies and freshly brewed Indian-style coffee help kick-start the day.

Would have been nice if they put this menu on their website!
