The Scotiabank Passions gala is back for a 12th year this September—but at a different venue.

The fundraiser for the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation will take place on September 13 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Yaletown Roundhouse (181 Roundhouse Mews). Over 20 of the city's top chefs will be preparing lavish small plates.

This year’s participating restaurants include Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar, Chambar, Cibo Trattoria, CinCin, Forage, Hawksworth Restaurant, Minami, Tojo's, and Torafuku, among others.

Here's a taste of what was served in 2014 at the Imperial Vancouver.

Lauren Mote, Diageo World Class Canada’s 2015 Canadian Bartender of the Year, will pour cocktails. There will also be beer from from R&B Brewing Co., and wine from New Zealand Winegrowers.

Scotiabank Passions has raised more than $1 million for HIV/AIDS care since its launch in 2003.

Tickets are $225 per person for general admission, or $300 including a sparkling reception with oysters, hosted by Tofino's SoBo chef Lisa Ahier, an hour before the main event.

Buy them through www.drpeter.org or by calling 604-331-5086.

...to say the same thing! So many Vancouver fundraisers seem to take place on Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur. In most North American cities, organizations take Jewish holidays into account. I would have loved to attend this fundraiser, but I won't be able to join and contribute to this important cause.
