One of Vancouver's leading craft brewers will celebrate the West Coast shellfish industry with a new Oyster Stout beer.

Parallel 49 Brewing Company will offer limited quantities in its Triumph Street tasting room and at Merchant's Oyster Bar at the end of Oyster Fest. It runs from September 22 to October 22.

During the festival, Merchant's will offer $1 oysters and $3 12-ounce Craft Lagers from Parallel 49.

In case you're wondering, Parallel 49's Oyster Stout beer is not being made with real oysters.

It's also not the first beer with this moniker. The British brewer Marston's has created a beverage of the same name, as has the U.K.'s Arbor Ales and Colorado's Wynkoop Brewing Company.
