It's been 10 years since Central City opened its brewpub and liquor store in downtown Surrey. Now, the brewery is set to expand.

This Friday (November 29), Central City Brewers + Distillers debuts a new facility at 11411 Bridgeview Drive, just off the Pattullo Bridge near the South Fraser Perimeter Road. It's a big one at 65,000 square feet.

While the original location had a brewing capacity of 7,500 hL, the new location can produce 25,000 hL. In the next few years, the brewery hopes to increase production to 100,000 hL, and it comes equipped with bottling and canning lines.

The new facility also has distilling capabilities, and Central City plans to add distilled gin, vodka, rye, and single-malt whiskeys to its line. It currently features a tap room that's open to the public where people can sample beers and buy them in the retail store.

The original Central City Brewpub + Restaurant, as well as its liquor store, will continue to operate in its present location at the foot of Surrey Central SkyTrain station at 13450 102nd Avenue. However, it will only produce small batches of craft beer. The majority of production will shift to the new facility.

The public can tour the Bridgeview brewery this Friday (November 29) from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Beer will be flowing, and food trucks will be on-site.

After that, the Bridgeview brewery will run tours by reservation on Saturdays and Sundays at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., and 5 p.m.. The retail and liquor store is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
