Just when you thought the Yeast Van revolution had reached its peak, there comes a beer inspired by one of the area’s most recognizable structures.

R&B Brewing has released its Vancouver Special IPA, a hop-dominant ale that’s modeled after the “big and sturdy” nature of its namesake.

The copper-coloured beer has an ABV of six percent and features Pacific Northwest hops, moderate levels of bitterness and maltiness, and notes of floral and citrus.

In other words, it’s the perfect, easy-drinking companion for a low-key night with friends—perhaps with one of those iconic, box-like houses as your backdrop.

R&B Brewing’s Vancouver Special IPA is now available in bottle and keg forms at R&B Brewing Co. (54 East 4th Avenue) and select liquor stores.
