Beach Bay Café and Patio has appointed Felix Zhou as its new executive chef.

Zhou has held positions at West Restaurant, MARKET by Jean-Georges, The Parker, and most recently, the now-defunct Big Trouble. He has also worked at restaurants in Whistler and London, UK.

Zhou introduces a revamped menu to Beach Bay Café, highlighting the restaurant’s seaside location with a focus on locally sourced ingredients and fresh seafood.

New menu items include octopus and chorizo paired with couscous and peppers; house-cured salmon with avocado, beets, and puffed wild rice; and risotto of celeriac garnished with shaved black truffle.

Battered ling cod and traditional British-style chips with sauce gribiche will also be served from Beach Bay Café’s recently reopened take-out window.

Zhou joins the restaurant in time for its lunch service debut, which will see it serving mid-day meals from Tuesday to Friday, plus extended brunch hours on weekends.

Zhou and his team have also crafted a mouth-watering New Year’s Eve feast that can be enjoyed through a four- or eight-course tasting menu (from $49 per person), or à la carte style.
