To celebrate International Women’s Day, L’Abattoir is hosting a roster of powerhouse women from Vancouver’s hospitality industry for a panel discussion in its private dining space.

Moderated by L’Abattoir’s assistant general manager and wine director, Lisa Haley, guests include Burdock & Co. owner-chef Andrea Carlson; Hawksworth restaurant manager Kimberly Hall; Lauren Mote, owner-operator of Bittered Sling and bar manager at Cibo Trattoria and UVA Wine & Cocktail Bar; and Fairmont Pacific Rim wine director Jill Spoor.

Meeru Dhalwala, co-owner and chef at Vij’s and Rangoli, and Chambar owner Karri Schuermans will also participate.

Together, these influential women will discuss the challenges they’ve faced in getting to where they are now as well as the positive changes they’ve seen in the industry.

The event takes place on Tuesday (March 8) from 6 to 8 p.m. Entry is by cash donation, with proceeds going to a local rape crisis and transition centre ($15 minimum). Doors open at 5:30; there will be a reception and cash bar.

To ensure a spot, RSVP with your name and number of attendees to bronwen@labattoir.ca.
