Blackbird Public House, Driftwood Brewing team up for second spot prawn boil
Like life, spot prawn season is short and messy. So why not roll up your sleeves and dive in?
This is the second year that the Donnelly Group has hosted a spot prawn boil, in which they cover the tables with newspaper and pour on buckets of prawns for diners to tackle family-style. With it there's corn on the cob, green beans, new potatoes and bread to mop things up. Leave room for rhubarb cake.
The sold-out event on May 18 was so successful that they've added another this weekend. It kicks off this Sunday (June 1) at 6:30 p.m. at the Blackbird Public House & Oyster Bar. The first bucket drops at 7 p.m.
Oh, and of course, there will be beer. A representative from Driftwood Brewing Company will be on hand pouring pints of Fat Tug IPA, White Bark Wheat Ale, and Farmhand Ale.
Tickets go for $49 (plus taxes and fees) and include several beer. For more info, see Blackbird's Facebook page.
