After cancelling last year’s long-table dinner in Stanley Park due to liquor-licensing issues, organizers are giving Vancouver another go. Araxi Longtable Dinners is set to make its Lower Mainland debut at Vanier Park on August 4. The outdoor meal will take place at the Bard on the Beach venue near False Creek.

In previous years, the long-table dinners associated with Whistler fine-dining restaurant Araxi have been staged at North Arm Farm in Pemberton and Lost Lake in Whistler. The elegant dinner for 300 people features four-course menus created by Araxi executive chef James Walt. The meal showcases local, farm-to-table dishes with wine pairings.

At the Vancouver dinner, Walt will be joined by other Toptable Group chefs: Qung Dang from West, Frank Pabst from Blue Water Café, Andrew Richardson from CinCin, and Thierry Busset from Thierry Chocolaterie Patisserie and Café.

Tickets to the dinner are $175 per person (including wine pairings, tax, and gratuity) and can be purchased by phoning 604-932-4540 or emailing longtable@araxi.com.
