Craft beer may continue to be the talk of the town in Vancouver, but the third annual B.C. Distilled will prove that B.C.’s artisan spirits scene is on the rise as well.

The craft and micro-distillery festival takes place at the Croatian Cultural Centre (3250 Commercial Drive) next Saturday (March 26), where 27 B.C. craft distilleries will converge with a variety of locally made gins, whiskies, liqueurs, vodkas, and more.

The main tasting event takes place at the venue from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., when attendees will be able to sample a number of imaginative spirits. Keen imbibers will also be able to participate in B.C. Distilled’s audience favourite awards blind-tasting, where they can vote for their most-loved drinks.

Sustenance will be provided throughout the evening in the form of canapes by Blacktail Restaurant + Lounge, Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar, Cascade Room, Edible Canada, The Union, Westin Bayshore, and Forage, who will be teaming up with Wayward Distillation House to create food and drink pairings.

Attendees can also take home drinks at the Legacy Liquor “pop-up shop”, which will have more than 100 products from participating distilleries on hand.

Proceeds from the event and an onsite auction will support the Pacific Assistance Dogs Society, a local organization that breeds and trains fully certified assistance dogs for people with disabilities.
