B.C. berries are in season, and the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market (2300 Guelph Street) is celebrating with berry-themed events at the berry festival this Sunday (July 17) at 10 a.m.

One of the main attractions at the family friendly festival is the B.C. berry pie competition, which sees bakers both young and old enter their favourite berry pie to win prizes.

Shoppers who are curious about what it’s like to be a tasting judge can sample the different entries by donation.

A berry-themed food swap will also take place, where berry-lovers can swap their favourite berry treat with others. This can range from jam to scones, pie to pastries, dressings, and more.

Other activities at the festival include free special edition recipes, berry sampling, as well as activities for kids with B.C. Blueberry Council and B.C. Recycles.

We’re sure you’ll have a berry good time. Get it?
