Travellers driving through the Sea-to-Sky Highway will soon have another reason to swing by the dainty downtown Squamish core—a tasty one for that matter.

The Salted Vine Kitchen + Bar (37991 Second Avenue, Squamish) is a new eatery that will be opening in the popular tourist destination, offering contemporary Pacific Northwest cuisine in the historic town.

The restaurant is a collaboration between industry veterans Jeff Park (former chef de cuisine at Araxi Restaurant + Oyster Bar) and Pat Allan (former restaurant manager and sommelier at Araxi).

“We’re thrilled to be able to open a restaurant that offers a unique space for all sorts of occasions, whether it’s date night, a business meeting or a casual bite while passing through the Sea-to-Sky,” said Park in a press statement.

The Salted Vine’s kitchen team will be under the direction of Park, who will take the role of executive chef. With over 30 years of restaurant experience, Allan will be leading the front-of-house staff as restaurant director and sommelier.

Boasting a 70-seat dining and lounge area, as well as a 20-seat patio and a full bar—guests can expect to dine in comfortable fashion.

Its menu will focus on seasonal small share plates that use fresh and sustainable ingredients. House-made cocktails, carefully selected B.C. and international wines, and local craft beer on tap will be available for those who enjoy drinks with their meals.

The Salted Vine is scheduled to open by late summer 2016.
