Never mind if you end up with garlic breath—food tastes better with the aromatic and flavourful ingredient.

The eighth annual Garlic Festival returns this Sunday (August 21) to Terra Nova Rural Park (2631 Westminster Highway, Richmond) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The culinary highlight of the event include tasty fare from local restaurants such as ARC Restaurant from Fairmont Waterfront, Mosaic Grille from Hyatt Regency, Nextjen Gluten-Free goods, Rocky Point Ice Cream, and more.

Other features at the weekend festival include an expanded farmers and garlic market, live music, educational workshops on growing garlic, cooking demonstrations, as well as a kid’s zone to keep the young ones entertained.

In addition to food and activities, festival-goers can also check out exhibitors who will be present on site such as Fortis BC, Vancouver Aquarium’s Ocean Wise, YVR Airport, and Save-on-Foods among others.

All proceeds from the Garlic Festival go toward supporting The Sharing Farm—a society run by community members to grow fresh and healthy produce for less fortunate families.
