Jethro's Fine Grub and AllStar Wings and Ribs close on Bute Street off Robson
Two restaurants in the West End have unexpectedly closed on Bute Street this month.
Back in November, Jethro's Fine Grub opened a third location in the West End at 833 Bute Street (which previously housed Korean restaurant Red Chicken), just off Robson Street.
The eatery served up a variety of breakfast and lunch items such as various eggs benedict, omelettes, French toast, pancakes, sandwiches, burgers, and more. The menu covered everything from Tex-Mex chili omelettes or apple cobbler French toast to Denver Melt sandwiches or Thai green curry with rice.
However, the restaurant announced on January 29 that the extremely short-lived West End location has closed "due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control".
The good news is that there are still the two other locations to eat at: 3420 Dunbar Street on the West Side and 3455 Fraser Street in East Vancouver.
Meanwhile, across the street from Jethro's, the sports-oriented AllStar Wings and Ribs also closed earlier this month on the second floor at 808 Bute Street.
The Ontario-based chain (which has eight locations, including in Toronto, Mississaugua, Markham, Pickering, Richmond Hill, Scarborough, and Vaughan) opened its only Vancouver location in 2014 with a menu offering an extensive list of chicken wings, as well as gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, charbroiled burgers, hot dogs, an array of fries, Vancouver happy hour and lunch specials, and more.
The location was previously occupied by Moxie's Grill and Bar, which abruptly closed in 2013.
