While the Vancouver Craft Beer Week Festival is still weeks away, local beer buffs can get their fix at the first-ever Fort Langley Food + Beer Festival this Saturday (May 20), which will see over 15 B.C. craft breweries converging in the community in celebration of Canada’s 150+ birthday.

Hosted by Langley’s Trading Post Brewing Company, the event will feature beer offerings from Metro Vancouver–based spots such as Four Winds, Steel & Oak, and Twin Sails. There will also be a strong presence of Fraser Valley suds from breweries like Field House, Foamers’ Folly, and Old Abbey Ales.

Trading Post will be pouring a special 1867 Pale Ale to commemorate the country’s sesquicentennial. Student-crafted creations from Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Brewing and Brewery Operations diploma program will also be available.

Imbibers can pair their drinks with food from over 10 local vendors, including Blacksmith Bakery, Taste of Heaven Gourmet Sausages, and Krause Berry Farms, while those looking to take five from beer can enjoy wine, cider, and spirit samples from Township 7, the Fraser Valley Cider Company, and Roots and Wings.

Live music will be provided by local bands Six Gun Romeo, Velvet BullDozer, and Her Brothers. Admission includes access to the Fort Langley National Historic Site—a former Hudson’s Bay Company trading post—where attendees can explore B.C.’s history through live demonstrations, audio tours, and more.

Admission to the event is $30. Tokens, which may be exchanged for beer samplers, are nine for $15 and available onsite. For a limited time, Vancouverites can also score special $60 tickets, which include admission, three beer tokens, and a coach-bus ride to and from downtown Vancouver.
