H2 Rotisserie & Bar: Upscale comfort food in Coal Harbour

There’s a new spot in town for happy hour and patio-lovers to check out, especially during these hot and sunny days that Vancouver has been blessed with.

H2 Rotisserie & Bar at the Westin Bayshore (1601 Bayshore Drive) recently opened up in Coal Harbour, and specializes in rotisserie chicken, comfort dishes, and a variety of libations under the helm of executive chef Kamal Silva.

If you’re wondering what the name of this joint stands for, it loosely translates to the pairs of things integral to the restaurant: heat (from the rotisserie) & hops (from the beer), hoots & hollers (from happy customers), and heights & harbour (what you’ll be viewing through the windows).

The new restaurant establishment offers 162 interior seats, and can accommodate a further 70 guests on its outdoor garden patio (which we suspect will be jam-packed on high-temperature afternoons and evenings).

Some of its featured menu items include H2’s signature spice-rubbed Abbotsford rotisserie chicken, West Coast crab cake, sea to fork linguini (prawns, Salt Spring Island mussels, Dungeness crab), roasted bone marrow, grilled cheese and tomato soup, and steak + fries, among others.

Campfire Tales: Woodford Reserve bourbon, Sheringham dark chocolate vodka, Odd Society mia amaro, vanilla popcorn syrup, amaro marshmallow.

Sixteen local craft beers will be available on tap and in bottles, as well as an assortment of B.C. distilled liquors and a lengthy B.C. wine list.

Creative cocktails—including Dr. Sun Yet-Sen Remedy (Black Moon smoked rosemary gin, white tea syrup, lemon juice, teapot bitters) and Campfire Tales (Woodford Reserve bourbon, Sheringham dark chocolate vodka, Odd Society mia amaro, vanilla popcorn syrup, amaro marshmallow)—will be on offer.

Those with a sweet tooth will be happy to know that its dessert menu (aptly titled “treat yo-self”) will leave your mouth watering. Guests can choose anything from layered carrot cake to potted chocolate mousse, salted caramel popcorn cheesecake to skillet s’mores, and gelato to an artisan cheese plate.

“We have such an incredible location, ideally situated at the edge of Stanley Park, overlooking Coal Harbour and the North Shore mountains,” said Martin L. Leclerc, general manager of the Westin Bayshore, in a press statement. “And now we have this stylish, inviting spot, with imaginative cuisine, craft beers galore and locally distilled liquors for our mixologists to play with.”

H2 is open from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. for breakfast, brunch, lunch, happy hour, and dinner. Its happy hour is offered daily from 3 to 5 p.m. (food and drinks) and 10 p.m. to close (drinks only).
