What’s more motivating than someone handing you a bag of mini donuts while you’re participating in a 5k run? We can’t think of anything.

The PNE’s annual Donut Dash 5k run returns to Empire Field and Fairgrounds (2901 East Hastings Street) on August 20 (9 to 11 a.m.).

Besides the healthy aspect of participating in a short distance run, this family-friendly summer activity is known for its overall energetic atmosphere and tasty bites.

Runners will start off in the Empire Field (located next to the wooden coaster), before dashing past the rides and attractions, PNE amphitheatre, livestock barns, and more.

Adults and children will be presented with water and snacks along the way, including Fun Dunkers’ mini donuts, Oreo churros, and mini donuts dipped in chocolate and covered in sprinkles.

Registration ($45 for adults, $30 for kids, plus entry and service fees) includes a PNE Donut Dash buff, race bib, finisher’s medal, and free admission to the Fair at the PNE on Sunday, August 20.
