If you want to enjoy a lovely waterfront meal before the summer comes to an end, take note of an upcoming salmon feast in the city.

The first annual Wild Salmon Celebration will be taking place at False Creek Fisherman’s Wharf next Saturday (August 26) from 6 to 9 p.m.

Hosted by the Chefs’ Table Society of B.C. (a non-profit group of local chefs and culinary professionals dedicated to using local and sustainable ingredients) and the B.C. Salmon Marketing Council, this outdoor dinner will feature tasty dishes created by top chefs across Canada accompanied by live music from Don Hardy Blues’ Quartet.

Participating chefs include Lee Cooper of L’Abattoir (Vancouver), Charlottle Langley of Scout Canning (Toronto), Peter Zambri of Zambri’s (Victoria), Ryan Bissell of North Arm Farm (Pemberton), and many more.

The main theme of this al fresco meal is salmon, and some of the culinary creations include barbecue salmon with sesame seeds and dashi (Japanese cooking stock) glaze, cured salmon with risotto and pickled field cucumber, and salmon poké bowls, among others.

Wine samples from Cumina Family Estate Winery, Haywire Winery, Sage Hills Estate Winery, Tinhorn Creek Vineyard, and Covert Farms Family Estate Winery will also be served.

This event is available to guests 19 years or above. Tickets ($49 per person, plus taxes and fees) include six dishes and five wines, and can be purchased online
