There's good news for burger lovers as Victoria-based burger chainlet is gearing up to enter the Vancouver market.

Bin 4 Burger Lounge will open in the South Granville neighbourhood at 2996 Granville Street (at West 14th Avenue), the former location of Luke's Corner Bar and Red Door Pan Asian Grill.

According to owner Dan Blackmore, the forthcoming eatery, which they hope to open in November, will be approximately 2,700 square feet, with seating for about 100 people inside and about 40 more people on the patio.

The menu will remain consistent with their other locations, which includes a focus on local products and hormone- and antibiotic-free meat.

Their internationally influenced, diverse array of gourmet burgers, ranging in price from $12 to $16, include selections such as sweet corn and chipotle chicken breast with goat cheese, ginger soy tofu with crispy wontons, seared rare sesame crusted ahi tuna with olive tapenade, chick pea and black bean with quinoa and curry aioli, B.C. lamb with eggplant and tomato relish and Ermite blue cheese, and rangeland bison with five-year aged cheddar and crispy fried onions. (Hungry yet?)

Starters include house spiced potato chips with two dips ($6), deep-fried pickles ($8), and pork and chorizo lettuce wraps ($13).

Rounding out the menu are salads, desserts, gluten-free options, and a drink menu that includes B.C. wine, Vancouver Island beers, cocktails, and a range of non-alcoholic options, such as housemade mint lemonade.

Blackmore said they're currently looking into incorporating a Vancouver brewery and are considering Vancouver-area distilleries to add to their bar lineup. When confirmed, these will be added to all of their locations for consistency.

Of interest for those on a budget or late-night eaters, all burgers ordered in-house with a beverage after 9 p.m. are 50 percent off.

The company's first location opened in downtown Victoria in 2011, followed by locations in Langford and Saanich.

While a number of burger joints have rapidly cropped up over the past decade in Vancouver, a number recently closed down. Among the closures have been StackHouse Burger Bar in downtown Vancouver, Relish Gourmet Burgers on Davie Street, and Vera's Burgers location on both Denman Street and Broadway.

Meanwhile, California-based Johnny Rockets is moving into the B.C. market with three new locations, including two that have opened in Victoria and one soon to open in Vancouver.
