Stacks on Stacks: Culinary block party to feature photo-worthy food created at the Commissary Connect kitchen
What better way to bid farewell to summer than celebrating with an outdoor block party that features mouth-watering fare?
“Stacks on Stacks”—presented by Here There Studio, Teamchomp, and Commissary Connect—is a culinary gathering that will take place at 401 Industrial Avenue on September 17 (noon to 3 p.m.).
It will showcase delicious food offerings created by talented but lesser known chefs in Vancouver, who are all members of Commissary Connect—a shared-use commercial kitchen space.
Guests will be able to taste creations from young food businesses such as the Dumpling King, Salt N Sear, Dipped Dough Co., Johnny Can’t Surf, and Perfect Pull.
A variety of signature dishes will be served, including unique hand-made dumplings (Johnnie Walker Black, pork belly, scallion), a catering menu made with B.C.-grown ingredients, mesmerizing vegan (and some gluten-free) doughnuts, hand-made dutch stroopwafel that pairs perfectly with coffee, and classic grilled cheese sandwiches with a gourmet twist.
The menu items will be presented in a stacked up-style, which will allow for some very aesthetic food photos and Instagram-worthy posts.
The hardest thing you’ll be faced with is resisting the urge to take a bite before snapping a picture.
Tickets ($40 plus taxes and fees) include five dishes and can be purchased online.
