One of the city's best known East Side eateries will soon be under new ownership.
In a statement, the company that owns Belgard Kitchen and the Settlement Building at 55 Dunlevy Avenue—which includes Belgard, Postmark Brewing, and Vancouver Urban Winery—says it's reached an agreement to buy Havana.
The deal will close on November 15.
"The new ownership is thrilled to carry on the legacy of this iconic brand that the current ownership has built," the statement declares.
Havana opened on Commercial Drive in 1996 and offers Latino food, Cuban cocktails, and very popular breakfasts across the street from Grandview Park.
It also has an art gallery and small theatre in the back of the restaurant.
The walls of the dining area are festooned with photographs and it has one of the most popular patios on the East Side.More
