Jack Poole Plaza is set to turn into an Old World, German-flavoured Christkindlmarkt again from November 22 to December 24 at the Olympic Cauldron.

The Vancouver Christmas Market has just announced its dates, marking its return with a giant new Walk-In Christmas Tree--a 30-foot-tall structure covered with 36,000 twinkling lights and housing a fairyland of delights inside.

The event moved to the larger site last year from the Queen Elizabeth Theatre Plaza--a relocation that paid off: it attracted a record number of visitors, 215,000.

The fest promises to be the biggest yet, with more than 75 gift and food huts (including German beer and mulled Glühwein to warm you up on a wintry night), along with family activities and live entertainment.

The Christmas Pyramid also returns, along with the old-fashioned carousel. Look for  a new Flying Stage perched 10 feet high above the market and hosting concerts of everything from classical to jazz.
