You’ll have to wait until next year for the city’s summer farmers markets to return, but there’s an in-season alternative that’s equally as good.

Vancouver Farmers Markets will be bringing back its two weekly winter markets beginning this weekend at Nat Bailey Stadium (4601 Ontario Street) on Saturdays (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and Hastings Park (between Renfrew and Hastings Street) on Sundays (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.).

Over 150 local farms and producers will be offering winter produce, locally raised meat, poultry, eggs, sustainable seafood, craft alcohol, artisanal cheese and bread, harvested products, and handmade crafts, among others.

Market-goers will also be treated to live music, face-painting for kids, and educational activities. Food trucks will also be on-site if you get hungry from all the shopping.

These weekly food events will run rain or shine, so don’t fret if it looks a little wet outside.
