If there’s one frozen treat that remains popular year-round, it’s gelato.

Bella Gelateria was voted “Best Gelato” by readers of the Straight in this year’s Golden Plates awards, making it a four-time winner.  We’re certain that its delectable lineup of flavours, including Akbar Mashti, Salted Caramel, and Espresso with Chocolate Bark, had something to do with its win.

The local company has been serving old-world, artisan-crafted gelato for more than 10 years, making it fresh daily. Bella Gelateria always uses the highest quality ingredients, such as Avalon Dairy milk, organic cane sugar and fruits from local berry farms. By using whole milk, there’s much less air fluffing up the gelato, ensuring that every customer gets to experience its fresh and intense flavours.

Every flavour of gelato from Bella Gelateria is made in an authentic Italian pozetti, which results in an incredibly smooth texture.

Bella Gelateria to open three new locations in Metro Vancouver

To meet the pressing gelato needs of the community, is opening three new locations in the Metro Vancouver area. Now, dessert enthusiasts can satiate their cravings for gelato in Downtown Vancouver at its new English Bay location on Davie Street and in the shopping district of Robson Street.

If you’re visiting Burnaby, its new 2,000-square-foot gelato shop and bakery can be found in the Amazing Brentwood Mall.

Many consumers aren’t aware that unlike regular ice cream, gelato has approximately one-third of the fat, making it a great option for people looking to indulge without feeling guilty afterwards.

Those who are lactose-intolerant or vegan can choose from Bella Gelateria’s several dairy-free sorbetto options like Dark Chocolate, Lemon, Mango and Passionfruit.  In addition, every location has flavours made without common allergens such as tree nuts and gluten so there’s something for everyone.

Bella Gelateria also serves a variety of Italian-inspired hot beverages like affogatos and
Hot-Chocolat-O’s—whoever thought to combine gelato and traditional Italian coffees was a genius.  For the people who prefer cold or frozen beverages, they have gelato milkshakes that will satisfy any sweet tooth.

Because leaving the house isn’t always feasible with our Vancouver weather, Bella Gelateria can also be ordered through Uber Eats and DoorDash. Instead of braving the unpredictable elements outside, you can have a few pints of gelato delivered right to your door.
