Two companies are recalling food products due to the presence of undeclared allergens in them. Anyone with food allergies should take note of these items, which were sold in British Columbia.

      Chicken pot pie

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced on November 6 that Bake My Day Gluten-Free Bakeries, based in Duncan, B.C., on Vancouver Island, issued a recall for its Bake My Day Chicken Pot Pie due to the presence of undeclared egg, which is an allergen.

The product is sold in B.C.

The recall includes all dates codes for these food products (which don’t have a UPC or specified size) without egg listed as an ingredient.

The recall was initiated after a consumer complaint, and there has been one reported reaction associated with consumption of this product.

Anyone allergic to eggs should not eat this product, as it could cause a serious or even life-threatening reaction. If you have this product, you are advised to dispose of it or return it to the place of purchase.

      Tikka curry

After that recall was issued, the CFIA announced on November 7 that Tree of Life Canada began recalling Sharwood’s Tikka Curry Paste because it, too, has an undeclared allergen: mustard.

The product has been sold in B.C., as well as Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island, and it may have been distributed in other provinces or territories.

The paste is sold in 255 millilitres with UPC 7 56781 00292 3 and date code MAY 2021.

Anyone allergic to mustard shouldn’t consume this product as it could cause a serious or life-threatening reaction. So far, there haven’t been any reported reactions to the product, and this recall was initiated by the company.

Anyone with this product should return it to the place of purchase or dispose of it.
