Earls Kitchen + Bar on Fir Street pivots quickly in response to public health order

Less than 48 hours after B.C.'s provincial health officer banned indoor dining last week, a West Side restaurant created a new covered patio on part of its parking lot.

Earls Fir Street's 10-table, heated dining area can be entered from both sides. And it includes plenty of greenery to absorb some of the carbon emitted from nearby traffic, as well as Plexiglas barriers separating the tables.

This new space, called the Tanqueray Terrace, complements its existing patio facing West Broadway.

It's one of several new pop-up patios around the region.

      Check it out below.
