A Vancouver restaurant where all sorts of diners can enjoy a meal is looking for a new owner.

Opened originally in 2009 as the Wallflower Modern Diner, the 2420 Main Street establishment has been listed for $349,000.

Online, the current Wallflower Diner pays homage to its roots as a place that caters to everyone.

“The Wallflower is a place where Omnivores, Carnivores, Vegans, Vegetarians and Celiacs can all dine together in comfort,” the business states on social media.

In 2012, then Straight staff member Stephen Hui wrote about his pleasant brunch at the Mount Pleasant diner.

Hui ordered a vegan version of eggs Benedict.

“Its savoury take on the Benny sees crumbled tofu and a portobello mushroom cap sitting on each side of an English muffin,” Hui related. “It’s all covered with a ‘cheesey’ sauce, instead of that egg-yolk-based Hollandaise.”

His order came with hash browns and a small salad.

Indeed, Hui wrote, the diner “makes a mean—in a good way—vegan Benny”.

“This Mount Pleasant eat spot’s menu has plenty of options for omnivores and vegans alike,” he added.

The business of the Wallflower Diner was listed by the Restaurant Business Broker agency of realtor Jean Seguin.

The $349,000 listing includes a 53-seat liquor licence.

      Lease is $6,500.

In July 2018, the Straight reported that the place was listed for sale with an asking price of $249,000.

An August 13, 2020 social media post by the current owner recalls the purchase.

“Two years ago today, I bought my favourite restaurant on Earth. I'm so glad it's survived this pandemic. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us. We couldn't have done it without you,” the post stated.
