From healthcare workers to bus drivers, standouts needed for Heroes Sip Easy contest

Granville Island Brewing is looking for a few good women and men

As much as we’re all in this together, and hopefully doing our part to get through each Groundhog Day–like week safely, some of us have truly gone above and beyond. Take a step forward essential workers, because you’ve been on the frontlines since this whole COVID-19 mess started.

In recognition of that, Granville Island Brewing has launched a contest to reward those putting themselves on the line every day: healthcare professionals, tradesmen, delivery people, grocery store workers, teachers, servers, retail clerks, and transit drivers.

Heroes Sip Easy—which is tied into GIB’s SIP Easy lager—starts with you. If someone has gone above and beyond, you nominate them on the Granville Island website. That can either be done anonymously or, for those who enjoy earning brownie points, with the nominator knowing their name has been put forward.

You then give a reason for the nomination in 250 words or less, thus entering your hero of a choice into the running for five prize packages.

Two grand prize winners will receive Granville Island Taproom packages, each worth $1,000. Lest one wonder how one person could eat and drink so much, the experience also allows them to bring along those in their bubble.

Three runners-up will receive Sip Easy prize packs, each worth $350.

Get nominating here by March 31—feeling free to canvas your friends for particularly worthy essential workers. After all, we still truly are—after all these lockdown months—in this together.
