While many may know Tyler Johnston as Stewart, the hilarious leader of the skids on Letterkenny, many folks may be excited to learn that he hails from New Westminster. And that he’s partnering with a Vancouver brewery to raise money for a good cause.

On June 16, Johnston will host a party with Container Brewing to debut a new limited-edition lager, all in an effort to fundraise for Canadian Blood Services. Lynn’s Lite Lager is a crisp, refreshing beer that was made in special collaboration with Johnston. During the launch party, Canadian Blood Services representatives will be onsite to answer any questions about donating blood and facilitate signing up for future appointments. Live music and food trucks—Mom’s Grilled Cheese and Pretty Good Sandwiches—will also be there to keep the party going.

Inspired by Johnston’s mother, Lynn Johnston, who is battling leukemia, the fundraiser aims to highlight Canada’s growing need for blood and platelet transfusions. During the party, 10 per cent of all beer sales will go towards the organization, along with $1 for every can of Lynn’s Lite Lager sold.
