Many people underestimate the power of a good brunch. Whether you’re meeting a friend for a breakfast poutine or treating your family to a meal that’ll fill their bellies, it’s the perfect opportunity to unwind and reconnect.

For more than a decade, has been sharing its passion for Canada’s iconic cuisine and fresh, high-quality ingredients with hungry guests. The restaurant’s spirited founder and chef, Mauro Martina, has always believed that the breakfast table is the best place for honest connection.

In this year’s Golden Plates awards, which are voted on by Straight readers, OEB Breakfast Co. walked away with seven notable achievements. It received first place in the categories of “Best Brunch” and “Best Breakfast”, and placed within the top three for “Best Restaurant Patio (Location)”, “Best Restaurant Patio (Service)”, “Best Gluten-Free Friendly Restaurant”, “Best COVID Pivot”, and “Best Yaletown Restaurant”.

With locations in Yaletown and The Amazing Brentwood Mall in Burnaby, the brunch company deeply appreciates the support from customers as it continues to push culinary boundaries.

If OEB Breakfast Co.’s recent Golden Plates success isn’t enough to convince you to drop everything and go for brunch, the restaurant’s menu will do the trick. You’ll find sweet and savoury crêpes, brioche French toast, eggs bennies, and scrambles, alongside other mouthwatering dishes.

For indecisive brunch goers, we suggest the CANADIAN EH!! eggs benny. It’s made with Canadian back bacon and dark maple syrup or brown butter hollandaise—we may or may not be drooling right now.

Guests with a sweet tooth will be impressed by the French Toast Trifle, which features Meyer lemon curd, market berries, pistachios, torched Pavlovas, and brioche bread.

Both dishes pair flawlessly with a piping hot latte, Bloody Caesar, or mimosa tasting flight.

“We are beyond thankful for the support of our community over the past couple of years,” says Teale Orban, director of marketing for OEB Breakfast Co. “Our guests' continued patronage has not only allowed us to keep our doors open but also provided the opportunity for continued growth with new locations throughout the Greater Vancouver area. We look forward to serving our unparalleled brunch experience to more and more guests over the years to come.”

Because it’s been so popular with brunch enthusiasts, OEB Breakfast Co. is hatching two new locations by the end of this year. Folks will soon be able to get their brunch fix in North Vancouver, as of November, and in West Vancouver (opening date is still TBD).
