For those in need of stocking up on spirits, there's a prime opportunity to do so this weekend.

The 2020 Premium Spirit Release will be held at 30 participating B.C. Liquor Stores across the province on Saturday (November 14).

The selection includes whiskies (including some from Canada, Ireland, Japan, and the U.S.), Scotch, limited-edition cognacs and bourbons, single estate tequilas, rums, gins, and liqueurs.

The broadest selection will be available at the 39th Avenue and Cambie and Park Royal Signature BC Liquor Stores.

Bottle restrictions may apply to products with limited availability. While Pappy Van Winkle bourbons won’t be available this time, there will be an announcement made about their forthcoming availability in 2021.

Previously, over 400 customers entered a draw for the opportunity to purchase one of a selection of extremely rare whiskies from The Collectibles, including the Macallan Genesis 72-year-old for the price of $82,500; the Bowmore 50-year-old 1965 edition for $45,000; the Dalmore Rare and Fine 45-year-old for $24,000; and the Glenlivet 1954 Private Collection from Gordon and Macphail at $23,000.

An online preorder was also held for limited inventory items from October 23 to 25.

Doors open at 7 a.m. and outside lineups will only be permitted on November 14.

Due to the pandemic, physical distancing will used for the lineup and inside the store, and the number of people in each store will be limited.

Customers are recommended to bring their mask to wear in the lineup and in the store.

The Premium Spirit Release brochure is available online and in stores.

Participating locations in the Lower Mainland include 39th and Cambie, 8th and Cambie, Abbotsford, Alberni and Bute, Broadway and Lillooet, Dunbar, Highgate Village, Langley, Meadowtown, Nordel Crossing, Northgate, Park Royal, Peninsula Village, Richmond Brighouse, Richmond Ironwood, Solo, Westview, and Westwood Centre.
