A media release describes the establishment as Canada’s only floating restaurant.

Shark Shack opened in June 2008 on Shuswap Lake in B.C.’s Thompson-Okanagan region, and after almost 13 years, the seasonal restaurant is now for sale.

Restaurant broker Jean Seguin listed the business for $749,900.

“They had the best summer last year,” Seguin told the Straight about the restaurant and bar.

The sale includes the boat rental business and general store at the property. Two late 1990s model speed boats come with boat rental business.

Seguin said that the Shark Shack opens for the 2021 summer season on June 18.

“The owner owns a different company that he runs all year long,” he said when asked about why the proprietor was selling.

The restaurant broker also said that current employees are eager to stay with a new owner.

A May 11, 2021 media release for the listing refers to the establishment as “the perfect catch”.

Three joined barges make for the 197-foot-long, 4,000-square-foot Shark Shack.

The property at 111 Shuswap Lake includes sleeping quarters that can accommodate up to 15 people.

“This property is a gem and the only one of its kind in Canada,” Seguin said in the release.

The restaurant broker noted that the listing provides an “incredible investment opportunity”.

The media release stated that the business could generate a six-figure “summer side hustle income based on previous earnings”.
