Looking for an event that offers savoury bites for you to sample? Check out the upcoming Vancouver Cheese and Meat Festival, which this year features over 40 vendors with 11 separate cheese producers—many of whom are introducing their cheeses to the public for the first time.

The festival celebrates artisanal foods and beverages, showcasing a diverse array of not only gourmet cheeses but also cured meats and other complementary treats. It’s like stepping into a specialty food shop full of samples: meet the makers of the various charcuterie elements, hear their processes for their delicious offerings, and taste the wide range of flavours. Get ideas for your next culinary event with recipes or serving pairings, and look out for festival-exclusive offers.

“I consistently felt overwhelmed when seeking out specialty foods. The process of finding the perfect selection or taking a chance on an unknown product often felt like a gamble,” says festival director David Bain in a statement. “We conceived the festival as a solution to foster a deeper appreciation for these unique offerings, allowing guests to taste them in harmonious combinations with their natural counterparts. Our aim is for our guests to become storytellers, sharing the narrative of these exceptional products at their next dinner party.”

There are a limited number of tickets available for the event, which takes place at The Pipe Shop in North Vancouver. The intimate atmosphere matches the boutique feel of the producers, leaving more time for festival-goers to interact with them and learn about their craftsmanship.
