Darryl Boone loves playing board games so much that he incorporated his hobby in his business.

Thus Pizzeria Ludica thus came into being at 189 Keefer Place in downtown Vancouver, where diners can play a game with their meal.

Pizzeria Ludica started in 2014, and Boone and his wife opened a second location in New Westminster (601 Carnarvon Street).

[Online, the establishment explains that the name “Pizzeria Ludica” roughly translates to “pizzeria of games”.]

At Pizzeria Ludica, Boone is more than happy to teach customers how to play a game.

When COVID-19 set in, Boone started a video blog dedicated to old board games.

In the videos, Boone shows how to play the games and explains why he considers these as “gems”.

Incidentally, Pizzeria Ludica at 189 Keefer Place has been listed on the market.

The asking price for the business is $419,000.

The listing states that the location near BC Place and Rogers Arena is "built to succeed".

"The well-established restaurant is profitable despite being only open for dinner. So there's room for a new operator to grow sales by opening longer hours," the offering notes.
