Vegan fast food joint Odd Burger opening in Vancouver

It’s a good start to Veganuary when you spot a new plant-based eatery opening up. Ontario vegan fast food chain Odd Burger is heading west, with Vancouver getting its very own joint soon.

Set between Subway and Maizal on Main and 12th, Odd Burger will soon be serving up meat-free burgers, “wingalings,” shakes, wraps, salads, and more.

The chain appears to poke fun at the classic fast food staples, with menu items that look suspiciously familiar.

Take the Famous Burger, for example. The double-decker burger features Odd Burger’s house-made smash patties, along with onions, lettuce, pickles, cheese, and “famous sauce,” all on a sesame bun. It ain’t a Big Mac, but it sure looks like one. There’s also the “Vopper,” which their website says is “fit for a king.”

Other menu items include the Crispy ChickUn burger and Pretenders—their take on a chicken nugget—along with vegan shakes such as the orange creamsicle and the Oddnado, in which Oreo cookie pieces are blended with creamy vegan soft-serve.

While no opening date has been announced, the chain’s website simply says a new shop at 2821 Main Street will be coming soon.
