Strathcona eatery VV Tapas Lounge has announced it is closing down at the end of the month. But don’t worry too much—the team will be opening a new dining concept in the same spot in early 2024.

“We want to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who has supported us in our journey and hope to see as many familiar faces as possible in the days leading up to our last service,” says operations manager and sommelier Chase MacLeod in a statement. “It’s definitely a bittersweet moment for us, but we’re excited to regroup and re-introduce our friends, fans, and neighbours to a whole new concept in the same space in the new year.”

The last day of service as VV, which opened its doors in 2019, will be December 23—giving you a few final weeks to taste the restaurant’s cauliflower dip with sumac and olive tapenade, or its wild mushroom risotto with marinated oyster mushrooms and black garlic miso paste.

There will also be daily happy hour from 4 to 6pm as well as 9pm to close; expect free snacks, half-price bottles of select wines, and feature glasses of wine and beer.

As for what’s to come in VV’s place, well, that’s a question to be answered after the holidaze.
