There are so many brands of hair products out there that it’s difficult to know what to choose. Not only is there shampoo, but there is a whole range of other products. Conditioners are very popular and you can get these as wash-out or leave-in. There are also deep conditioners which can be used two or three times a month.
If you want to style your hair in any particular way there’s styling wax and mousse. Serums are used for frizzy hair, dryness and style management. However, the list doesn’t end here. We can’t forget hairspray and hair color products. In addition, you will find that there are a lot more hair products in the stores for women rather than men.

What to Look for When Shopping for Hair Products
The most important thing to look for when shopping for hair products is making sure it suits your hair type. Perhaps you have greasy hair or it’s dry. Maybe it’s normal. In addition, there are hair products that are made specifically for those with dandruff, colored hair, split ends and hair in bad condition. They even make hair products for specific colors and hair that is falling out. In addition, there are shampoos and conditioners which have specifically been made for fine, frizzy and curly hair. It can be very difficult to choose what to buy especially if you have more than one of these conditions.
I have colored hair which can get into quite a bad condition so I will switch the products I use. One time I will buy a shampoo and conditioner specifically for colored hair and then the next time will I will pick a shampoo which repairs and cares.
There is no reason why a man shouldn’t use hair products for women and vice versa. The main difference between them is that there is more fragrance added to hair products for women. However, while a man could find a great choice of products for all different hair types in the women’s section, there are not as many choices in men’s products.
Hair Products for Curly Hair
Curly hair is one of the most difficult types of hair to manage. It can be difficult to style and a fringe is impossible. However, there are products out there which will make curly hair more manageable.
Try and pick products which don’t have sulfate as one of the ingredients. Regular shampoos often contain sulfate so it’s a good idea to read the ingredients of the shampoo. Sulfate is a combination of salt and detergent, both of which are hard on your hair. If you want glossy and shiny hair avoid this ingredient.
When looking for a conditioner for curly hair, a good choice is one which is made with essential oils. These oils add moisture and will make your curly hair shiny.
Here is a good example of a hair product for curly hair. It stops tangles and adds moisture leading to shiny hair.
2. SoCozy Curl Leave-in Conditioner
This product is great for people with curly hair especially if it is porous or damaged. It has a sweet pea scent and is a leave-in conditioner. It contains vegetable protein which adds moisture to the hair and makes it shinier.
In addition, there are hydrolyzed jojoba esters in this conditioner. They help to moisturize the hair, make it soft and sleek. It also encourages curly hair to grow quicker.
Beeswax helps to control your curls so that you don’t look windswept or like someone who has been pulled through a hedge backwards.
Another addition to this conditioner is panthenol which is a form of vitamin B5. This also helps to nourish the hair and make it shiny.
What this conditioner doesn’t contain is harmful sulfate so you can rest assured that you won’t be putting a harsh detergent on your hair. It also doesn’t contain artificial colors and dyes as well as parabens which are chemical preservatives which can cause allergic reactions.
Hair Products for Frizzy Hair
You don’t have to have curly hair for it to be frizzy. Even those with completely straight hair can have frizzy hair. So why does hair get frizzy? Well, it’s quite often due to a lack of moisture in the hair, but it can also occur when presented with environmental elements. Humidity is one of the worst culprits. Other causes include using hot styling products like blow dryers and curling irons too much, washing your hair with very hot water and shampooing too vigorously or too often.
Frizzy hair generally looks straw-like and dry. However, by using the right hair products you will find that your hair starts to look silky and smooth.
The best way to shampoo frizzy hair is to comb it through before washing to get rid of any tangles. Just pat dry your hair when finished and then comb starting at the bottom and moving upwards.
Deep conditioning treatments once a week can help to eliminate frizz. At other times apply a leave-in conditioner and heat protector before you style your hair. Serum is a good idea as you only need to use a few drops each time.
Again avoid products which contain sulfates and parabens. In addition, don’t use shampoo or conditioner which contains alcohol as it dries out hair. Hairspray is a good idea after styling to keep your hair in place.
If you have frizzy hair, this serum would be a great addition to your bathroom cabinet.
3. Herstyler Hair Repair Serum
If you want to have sleek locks this serum will help enormously. All you need is to put a few drops on your hair. Start massaging in from the ends of your hair, moving upwards. It works equally well with straight or curly hair or anything in-between. It is also good for hair which has been colored as colored hair does have a tendency to dry out.
As well as getting rid of frizz, this serum helps to get rid of tangled hair and eliminates split ends. It also protects against UV rays.
The serum contains argan oil which will add moisture to your hair. It is full of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. It has a high vitamin E content as well as plenty of fatty acids, both of which will help to produce silky hair. It also contains aloe vera which strengthens hair and gets rid of dead cells. It has a high moisture content helping your hair look sleek.

Yes, shampoo cleanses the hair, but it is conditioners that give your hair that sleek and shiny look. They add moisture to the hair and make it easier to style.
There are 3 types of conditioner out there; rinse-out which is the most common, leave-in and deep conditioners
I have chosen a rinse-out conditioner as my favorite.

Like women, many men start having hair problems around the age of 21, but they tend to have more problems than women, especially with thinning hair.
My first choice of best hair product for men is another Pura D’or hair product.

I love this as it is a 3 piece set; shampoo, conditioner and hair masque. Use the shampoo and conditioner daily and use the masque 2 -4 times a month. The masque will deep condition your hair.
These products only contain natural ingredients such as argan oil, amla oil, black cumin seeds, niacin, biotin and rosemary oil. In fact it has 15 DHT herbal extracts and essential oils which help to stop hair from thinning and falling out. It doesn’t contain any sulfates, parabens or harsh chemicals which can strip your hair of moisture. What I particularly like about this product is that it’s hypo-allergenic, gluten-free and vegan.
Now for a styling product which keeps your style all day long.
6. Hair Craft Co. Clay Pomade
This clay pomade leaves your hair with a fantastic matte finish and isn’t greasy at all. Nobody would know that you were wearing it. It has a medium hold and looks natural while keeping the style you want.
