Sherri Rogers, Painter

1310 William St (E8)

What's your medium of choice and why?

I use acrylic paint on wood-I love the vibrant colors and the ability to paint quickly with fast drying acrylics. Sometimes I spritz paint onto the canvas using handheld atomizers.

Where do you find your inspiration?

While exploring off-the-grid on my bicycle, I look for places where other artists have left their mark with street art and graffiti. I am drawn to the colourful corners of the city, looking at hidden alleyways through a fine art lens.

What new works will you have at the Crawl?

This year I have continued with my Bicycle Portrait series, exploring landscapes I found in Toronto, Vancouver and Los Angeles.

What's your favourite thing about the Crawl?

My favorite thing about the Crawl is talking to all the people, and hearing about things my paintings remind people of. It's quite a luxury to spend 4 days talking about art!

Where's your favourite hangout during the Crawl?

You can probably find me at Strange Fellows just down the street, re-energizing after the Crawl with a nice pale ale.
