Carly Rae Jepsen to release new album on the same day she’s playing in Vancouver
Canadian singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen has just announced that her new album The Loveliest Time will be out on July 28—the same day she’s opening for indie rock supergroup boygenius at a sold-out show at the PNE Amphitheatre.
The Loveliest Time—a companion album to 2022’s The Loneliest Time—will feature 12 songs, including lead single “Shy Boy.” Produced by James Ford, the disco-style song is accompanied by a black-and-white music video.
“It’s done and a month from now The Loveliest Time will be all yours,” Jepsen wrote in an Instagram announcement. “It’s the completed set to a body of work that taught me so much about love and loneliness and myself.”
Jepsen first exploded onto the scene with her 2012 song, “Call Me Maybe.” She grew up in Maple Ridge and Mission and placed third on Canadian Idol in 2007; she has received three JUNO Awards, three Billboard Music Awards, and an Allan Slaight Award.
