Vancouver park commissioner Erin Shum gives birth to baby girl

      One Vancouver park commissioner had much bigger news to share over social media this weekend than a few missing plants in Queen Elizabeth Park.

      Erin Shum announced over Twitter that she gave birth to a baby girl on Friday (June 8).

      She offered thanks to the health-care staff at B.C. Women's Hospital.

      Shum, who was first elected in 2014, is married to political strategist and former B.C. Liberal candidate Gavin Dew.

      In the photograph above, you can see the proud papa with his daughter, who's been named Abigail Ariella.
