B.C.–founded fashion boutique Jonathan+Olivia has announced that it will return to the West Coast this fall with the opening of a new shop in Whistler.

The retailer opened on Vancouver’s Main Street in 2005, soon becoming a destination for contemporary and, at the time, hard-to-find men’s and women’s labels like Alexander Wang, Opening Ceremony, and A.P.C. That store shuttered in 2010, when owner Jackie O’Brien Jones moved east to settle down with her husband and concentrate her efforts on a newly launched Toronto location.

Eight years later, however, Jones and her partner have decided to relocate Jonathan+Olivia’s operations to the heart of Whistler village. “As some of you may or may not know, Jackie O’Brien Jones first opened Jonathan+Olivia in Vancouver back in 2005 with the Toronto store opening in 2008,” the pair wrote in a Facebook post published on Monday (June 11), “but now her heart is calling her home and the family is jumping into a new adventure in Whistler, B.C.”

Slated to open in September, the Jonathan+Olivia flagship will carry the same style of high-end clothing, footwear, and accessories that put the boutique on the map more than a decade ago. The shop, which Jones once described to the Straight as “a giant closet filled with all my favourite clothes”, will also launch a neighbouring “luxury store” in Whistler that will sell ready-to-wear, handbags, and lifestyle objects curated by Jones.

In the meantime, you can browse Jonathan+Olivia’s range of goods online. The retailer will also be holding a special sale on select, never-before-seen pieces at its Toronto location on July 3 and 4.
