Food recall for Compliments chili powder due to possible Salmonella contamination

      Today (September 7) the Canadian Food Inspection Agency announced that La Cie McCormick Canada is recalling Compliments brand chili powder due to possible Salmonella contamination.

      The product is sold in a 155 gram bag with the code 2020 MA 26 and UPC number 0 55742 35921 3.

      The recalled product should be disposed of or returned to the store of purchase.

      Food contaminated with Salmonella can may not appear or smell spoiled.

      Anyone who becomes sick from consuming this product should contact their doctor.

      Symptoms may include fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps, or diarrhea. Longterm complications may include severe arthritis. More information about Salmonella is available at the Health Canada  website

      Thus far, there haven't been any reported illnesses from the consumption of this product.
