Heavy rains cause localized flooding in Vancouver—and some surprising video of streets covered in water
City of Vancouver work crews were kept busy last night due to a major downpour.
According to the city's Facebook page, 25 crews responded to calls and three streets were temporarily closed because of localized flooding.
By 4 a.m. there were 128 calls.
In the wake of this, city officials have encouraged residents to clear catch basins.
Some of the worst driving conditions were near the Olympic Village.
This is apparent to anyone who clicks the videos below, which were taken by Chad Harris abd Gian-Paolo Mendoza.

There will be a return to heavier rain Thursday (November 1) with 35 to 45 millimetres possibly coming down.
If all of this comes to pass, it just might provide a window for some dry trick-or-treating on Halloween night.

Along the Coquihalla Highway, it was snow, not rain, that was the major story.
