There's an opportunity to grab another hour of shut-eye this weekend.

That's because the clocks will go back by on Sunday (November 4) at 2 a.m.

It will mark the end of daylight savings time.

A year ago, B.C. premier John Horgan said he would consider abolishing daylight savings time after the Union of B.C. Municipalities passed a resolution calling for this.

On Thursday (November 1), however, Horgan said that the B.C. government has decided not to dump dayight savings time, even though he received "literally thousands and thousands of interventions from the public on this issue".

Part of the reason was a lack of of interest from major trading partners, as well as Washington state governor Jay Inslee.

"There are complications to being on the same time with people in the business day," Horgan said. "We have not heard overwhelming support for this from the business community, for example."
