Grouse Mountain to reopen this weekend after seasonal maintenance

Recent torrential rainfall and strong winds this past week resulted in some North Shore trails and parks being closed due to damage and hazardous conditions.

Although Grouse Mountain had already been closed for seasonal maintenance scheduled from November 1 to 12, a mudslide flooded debris into Grouse Mountain parking and pedestrian areas at the base of the mountain.

Yet despite the unexpected extra cleanup required, the seasonal work wound up being completed earlier than anticipated and will accordingly reopen two days earlier on Sunday (November 11) in time for the long weekend.

The Grouse Grind, mountain ziplines, Mountain Ropes Adventure, Super Skyride, Grizzly habitat, and the Chalet (and restaurants) will be open.

Based on forecast cooler temperatures, the skating pond is estimated to open by next week.

A special offer that includes three mountain ziplines and the Mountain Ropes Adventure blue course will be available only on Sunday and Monday (November 11 and 12) by calling 604-980-9311.

Meanwhile at Grouse Mountain Regional Park, a temporary bridge has installed at a washout for anyone seeking to use the BCMC and Baden-Powell trails until the damage can be repaired.
