The holidays are just around the corner, which means most people are in full Christmas-shopping mode. It can be a chore figuring out where to snag some good deals or look for a mall with minimal crowds—some just ditch visits to brick-and-mortar establishments and resort to online shopping.

Luckily, those who live or work in the Kitsilano neighbourhood don’t have to go far to find the perfect gift because the street is lined with stores that offer everything from fashion apparel to accessories, and from culinary goods to skincare necessities.

Participating shops offered in-store discounts, live music, giveaways, and more.

The West 4th Avenue Business Improvement Association officially launched Kitsmas last night (November 29), which is an annual shopping event in the district. Running from December 1 to 20, customers can expect to find many promotions and discounts.

If you didn’t get the chance to join last night’s festivities, you missed out on giveaways, snacks, live music, and wine. Shoppers also took home a special Kitsmas tote bag with every purchase.

Free bubbly was also served at select stores, including Middle Sister Boutique.

Some of the participating shops included Beauty Bar, Coco’s Closet, Kit & Ace, Middle Sister, Ollie Quinn, Pure Barre, Shoes on 4th, Silk Road Tea, the Latest Scoops, and Two of Hearts, among others.

Don’t fret, there’s always next year’s launch party to look forward to.
