‘Tis the season for last-minute gift shopping, visiting Christmas markets, and hunting for the most spectacular holiday lights around town.

Coal Harbour’s Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel (1038 Canada Place) has teamed up with celebrated design and manufacturing studio Bocci to create a unique and mesmerizing light installation for the most wonderful time of the year.

Inspired by traditional Christmas trees, the display features Bocci’s 28 lighting collection by Omer Arbel—multi-coloured Bocci balls are arranged to hover above and around the frosty white trees just beneath the installation.

The celebrated lighting series features 28 results created from an innovative fabrication process that manipulates the temperature and direction of air flow into blown glass. The end product is a slightly distorted sphere with an interior landscape of satellite shapes, which encompasses an opaque milk glass diffuser that houses a low-voltage xenon or LED lamp.

The pendant lights come in 90 different colours and are displayed in a random configuration. Fairmont Pacific Rim and Bocci expertly chose festive hues in celebration of the holiday season: grey and silvers, gold, reds, and greens.

It will be available to view throughout the holiday season.
