Former Vancouver mayor Gregor Robertson declares his devotion to Broadband TV founder Shahrzad Rafati
A multiple-award winning digital-media executive is the latest love interest of former Vancouver mayor Gregor Robertson.
Over Instagram, he sent a message to Shahrzad Rafati, the UBC-educated founder and CEO of BroadbandTV Corp.
Born in Tehran in 1980, her family immigrated to Canada, creating a company that has figured out new ways to monetize online audiences.
In a 2014 Straight article, then tech editor Stephen Hui wrote that it specializes in the "aggregation, optimization, protection, and monetization of online video, working with clients such as Warner Bros. Entertainment and the National Basketball Association".
These efforts resulted in her being named one of the 20 most powerful women in TV in 2016 by the Hollywood Reporter.
She's also been honoured by other organizations over the years, including Variety magazine, which placed her on its Power of Women list.

Last year, she was also honoured with a proclamation from the City of Vancouver.
