North Vancouver’s crowd-pleasing weekly attraction is gearing up to reopen for the 2019 season.
Shipyards Night Market (138 Victory Ship Way) returns to the Lower Lonsdale neighbourhood on May 3, which will run every Friday night (5 to 10 p.m.) until September 27.
The free, family-friendly spot will feature more than 150 food and artisan vendors, live music performances, and a beer garden for guests 19 years and above.
More than 30 local food trucks and food vendors will be on-site in the “hot-food alley”, which will undoubtedly draw heaps of hungry crowds on a post-work Friday evening. Newcomers include the vegan double-decker Buddha Bus from Buddha-Full, the Chowdery, and Truckin BBQ.
Visitors will also be able to find tasty bites from Reel Mac & Cheese, Tacofino, Mama’s Fish & Chips, Dolce Amore Gelato, Urban Wood-Fired Pizza, and more.
Compostable cutlery and straws will be used throughout the market to keep its environmental footprint to a minimum.
Besides the grub, market-goers will also find artisan goods in the marketplace located inside the Pipe Shop and the surrounding outdoor area. Jewelry, clothing, kidswear, baked goods, distilleries, cideries, preserves, soaps, plants, chocolate, and many other items will be on offer.
Public transport is the best way to head to the Shipyards Night Market—it can be accessed via the SeaBus at Waterfront Station in downtown Vancouver. Limited street parking and free parking in the ICBC Parkade is available after 6 p.m. on Fridays, which is adjacent to Lonsdale Quay.
We don’t know about you, but summer night markets never disappoint when you’re looking for a casual place to hang out and satisfy bellies.
